He...Amazingly, the author doesn't define love. Here is how I define it: it is to seek the ultimate good of another at all costs, come what may. For me such love cannot exist in varying degrees--50% here or 75% there as though God seeks "some" good for some people but "more" good for others. I don't buy it and never, never will. I would give my life before attributing such variable love to God.

I also believe it IS His glory that He seeks the good of every man, woman, and child at all costs, come what may. If that is not the case then I don't want such a god to love me. -Charles Kelly, MTAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33406124.post-60007817176506047742011-03-04T10:29:25.270-08:002011-03-04T10:29:25.270-08:00Yes, MacArthur comes from a Baptist background, an...Yes, MacArthur comes from a Baptist background, and is still a work in progress. I agree that God "tolerates" the world (longsuffering) as created beings, but not in the the same way he loves his bride the church. I tolerate and even show mercy to all women, but I love my wife uniquely and specially. We must remember that God's dealing with the non-elect is always for the benefit of the elect. He keeps the goats at bay so the sheep can prosper.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33406124.post-68100299428545598862009-05-04T13:21:00.000-07:002009-05-04T13:21:00.000-07:00What about Esau? So, how do you reconcile that?

Thanks,
kevinkelvingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10111688292866646652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33406124.post-21940962467918675742009-03-30T21:11:00.000-07:002009-03-30T21:11:00.000-07:00This was very helpful to me.This was very helpful to me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33406124.post-6227498057999207852008-11-10T08:24:00.000-08:002008-11-10T08:24:00.000-08:00Good post.Good post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
